Pro-neurodiversity, pro-supports and services, against "cures," AAD/M was started to counter April "awareness" stunts that demean us. It has expanded to become a way of viewing Autism in a positive and accepting way.

International Autism Acceptance Year (IAAY) is a continuation of the remarkable success of Autism Acceptance Day and Month, started in 2011 and currently in its second year.
