Autism Acceptance Day/Month/Year Call for Submissions!

Do you have an article about Autism Acceptance that you would like to be published here on the Autism Acceptance Day* blog? You can send original submissions OR give permission to reprint your article here on the original Autism Acceptance Day and Month site. You also have the option of linking a blog post on your own site to this site.

Email to me at pdurbinwestby at gmail dot com, or write in the comments section below.

Submission requirements:

You blog post must be about Acceptance of autism, and it must be something positive about autism, even if it is about difficulties Autistics sometimes have. It does not have to be all "flowers and sunlight" but it may not put down autism, nor may it be about "curing" autism. Also not up for consideration are posts about "I accept my child but I hate the autism." (Blue puzzle pieces can be posted elswhere, not here.) (Of course you may write that if you want, but it won't be posted here.) I am saying all this because it makes me feel bad to have to reject submissions, so please don't send that kind!

To submit links, please write in the comments section, and I will transfer them to a links list.

For submissions for consideration as stand-alone posts or reprints, please write to me at pdurbinwestby at gmail dot com.

Another note: I have turned off comments on the reprinted pieces. If you want to comment on one of the reprints, please go to the original page so the author of the post has a chance to see what you wrote. I don't assume authors of posts are coming here to check the comments.

*Autism Acceptance Day is the name of the blog, but this idea covers Autism Acceptance Day and Month as well as International Autism Acceptance Year, 2012-2013 and International Autism Acceptance Decade, 2010-2020.

  4. I'll be posting a short story about the novel series I created. It's called ASD United, and it is a riveting universe (nation) to live in.

How do I post my own story without a link?

  11. NOTE! I am getting kind of swamped with submissions! Please DO continue to send them in. I can't publish all at once- that would overload readers, not to mention me. If submissions meet the REQUIREMENTS I will eventually publish them. If I do not publish yours I will send you a note at some point as a courtesy.

Respectful comments appreciated. Name-calling, trolling, etc.? Those won't be published.
